Professor Evan Dellon is Professor of Medicine and Adjunct Professor of Epidemiology at the University of North Carolina (UNC) School of Medicine in Chapel Hill, USA, where he also serves as Director of the UNC Center for Esophageal Diseases and Swallowing. Professor Dellon earned his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, MD, USA. He completed his internal medicine residency at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA, USA, and gastroenterology fellowships at UNC, where he also gained a Master of Public Health in epidemiology.
Professor Dellon is internationally recognised for his expertise in eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) and other eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders. His clinical research encompasses epidemiology, pathogenesis, clinical outcomes and translational research, with the overarching goal of enhancing patient care and quality of life.
He has published widely in the field, having authored more than 500 peer-reviewed articles, and actively collaborates with several international research groups. Professor Dellon is also involved in the development of clinical guidelines and plays a key role in shaping the future of EoE research and clinical practice worldwide.
